What is a Spotlight Organization?
Best Practice Spotlight Organizations (BPSOs) are health-care and academic organizations selected by the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) through a request for proposals process to implement and evaluate the RNAO’s best practice guidelines.
This dynamic partnership focuses on making a positive impact on patient care though evidence-based practice.
The Long-Term Care – Best Practice Spotlight Organization (LTC-BPSO®) Designation has been designed to support long-term care homes in achieving clinical excellence through the implementation, evaluation and sustainability of multiple clinical practice guidelines.
Over the next three (3) years Grace and Faith Manor will be working together with the RNAO to implement three Best Practice Guidelines.
If we are successful in obtaining the designation as a Best Practice Spotlight Organization we will be joining the ranks of many other highly respected healthcare organizations such as Sunnybrook hospital, SickKids, Baycrest, and St. Michaels Hospital.
Guidelines to be implemented:
- Preventing and Addressing Abuse and Neglect of Older Adults
- Assessment and Management of Pain
- Prevention of Falls and Fall injuries in the Older Adult Population
